ABOUT ME

My Story

I’m a proud native of Suriname, South America. I moved to the United States in 1983 by way of the Dominican Republic, after a Coup d’état in my country. I settled in Florida, where I attended college and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Even though I’ve always loved working in the medical field, I’ve been an entrepreneur at heart for as long as I can remember. At just five years old, I started my very first business — bathing neighborhood dogs on Saturdays, pedaling my bike from house to house with a bucket and towel in hand.

In 1993, I launched Ufoureah Gifts, a home-based T-shirt and accessory business catering to medical professionals. Wanting to design my own marketing materials, I attended The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and earned a diploma in Graphic Arts to bring my vision to life.

In 2000, I sold my business and moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest — Oregon — where I continued my work as a Neonatal Respiratory Therapist. While I still loved helping people, I found myself missing the joy of running my own business. That led me to pursue a new path. I enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Portland and graduated with honors in 2002. From there, I launched Latitudes Catering, a personal chef service offering wine-pairing dinners and romantic aphrodisiac meals for couples in their homes.

When the economy took a hit and clients could no longer afford private dining experiences, I returned to respiratory therapy and dabbled in real estate. But something inside me knew it was time for a deeper change. After 25 years of helping people breathe — often in their most vulnerable moments — I wanted to care for others in a way that supported long-term wellness and self-care. That’s when massage therapy called to me.

In April 2012, I began studying at the Oregon School of Massage. I graduated on June 7, 2013, specializing in Sports and Deep Tissue Massage with a focus on Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy and Thai Massage on the table.

On August 1, 2013, Danielle’s Table, LLC was born — and it’s been a thriving practice ever since. If you’re in Portland, I invite you to come experience massage on my table. Let’s work together to restore your body, mind, and spirit.

My massage table is extra padded and dressed in soft, fresh, aromatic linens to make your experience as comforting as possible.

I use hypoallergenic, low-odor oils and creams — and if you prefer, I also offer completely fragrance-free options upon request.

As part of my commitment to sustainability and ease, I run a paper-free practice. That means all scheduling, cancellations, and payments are handled online — simple and stress-free.
