ON A SERIOUS NOTE!

The client understands that massage therapy is not a substitute for medical examinations and/or diagnosis and that it is recommended that clients see a physician for any medical ailments that the client may have. Since the massage therapist must be made aware of any existing physical conditions, the client has stated all known medical conditions and take it upon themselves to keep the therapist updated on the client’s physical health.

Massage is not recommended for certain people:

  • If you have an infectious skin disease, rash, or open wounds
  • immediately after surgery
  • immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your doctor
  • If you have osteoporosis please consult your doctor before getting a massage
  • If you are prone to blood clots. There is a risk of blood clots being dislodged. If you have heart disease, check with your doctor before having a massage
  • If you are pregnant please check with your doctor first 
  • If you have bruises, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, tumors, an abdominal hernia, or areas of recent fractures.
  • If you have a cold or fever
  • If you have infectious skin conditions                                         

IN ADDITION

  • Please don’t eat a heavy meal before your massage
  • Please no alcohol, cigarettes or marijuana right before your massage
  • Be properly hydrated, as massage can cause muscle cramps if you are not

if it’s your first time at the studio, arrive at least 5 minutes early to complete a form

The client understands that massage may cause some after effects that may be uncomfortable, such as an increase in urination, soreness and feeling tired.
